Aboutruby.com is Relaunching Their Home-Decor E-Commerce Business into A Lifestyle Brand
Jennifer E. Hamilton, founder of AboutRuby.com, together with her co-founder (and mother) Jacqueline E. Hamilton, have announced the relaunch of AboutRuby.com, pivoting from a home-décor e-commerce business into a lifestyle brand. The site will be relaunched after the new year.
As reported on their site, AboutRuby was established in 2018 by Jennifer and Jacqueline who both live in Greater Phoenix in Surprise, Arizona. Both are experienced businesswomen who helped to co-found a life-sciences consultancy in 2008. Jacqueline holds a BA in Sociology from the University of New York at Buffalo. Jennifer holds a BBA in Finance from Howard University in Washington DC Presently, Jennifer is an Interior Design student at NYIAD, the New York Institute of Art & Design.
We have asked Jennifer a few questions to understand better this pivot, as well as understanding and how they could achieve success in such a short time.
Q. Where does the idea of creating AboutRuby come from?
A. Growing up, I remember the small decorating touches that helped to make our family home to be more comfortable. With AboutRuby, we wanted to create a way to give back. In today’s world, we are about helping people to re-connect at HOME.
Q. What can the customer expect from this new market positioning of the AboutRuby brand?
A. I think people will find, in addition to our home décor shop, a trove of media relating to the home. We encourage people to sign up on our website or follow us on social media for special offers.
Q. Is your offer of free shipments a marketing promotion or more a way to be close to AboutRuby supporters?
A. Our offer of free shipping is to the continental US only. We believe in free shipping and will likely continue this into the foreseeable future. We don’t ship at all outside of the continental US. Later, we may expand to other countries and territories.
