London Startup Releases Reporting Solution In Response To Escalating UK Fly-Tipping Problem
London-based startup Litta has launched a simple system that allows anyone to report fly-tipping incidents to local authorities.

The innovative solution can be accessed through Litta’s website, and provides users with the ability  to take a picture, add a description of the waste and pinpoint the incident through GPS based on their location. This information will then be automatically transmitted to the local authority for clearance.

Simplified reporting

Founder and CEO Aaron Georgiou of Litta, said “Fly Tipping is a genuine menace that carries significant economic and environmental implications. We’ve found that the general public is willing to do their bit to combat this criminal behaviour, but it’s not always clear how and where to report incidents. Litta solves that problem by providing a simple and standardized approach to help local authorities locate, track, and investigate this criminal activity.”

Worrying Trend

Aaron added: “Fly-tipping is not a phenomenon of the Corvid 19 epidemic although it has amplified the problem which has rightly generated media interest”. According to research conducted by the Department of Environment Food and Rural Affairs, reported incidents of Fly-Tipping annually reported incidents of flytipping were 50% higher in 2019 than they were in 2013. 

Long term solutions
