Recently, Abu Dhabi Judicial Department and Dubai Sports Council recently held a meeting to explore cooperation in enhancing the performance of the Abu Dhabi branch of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) – Hearing Center. 

The discussion focused on organizing seminars and workshops to raise awareness of newly established sports laws and promote a culture of arbitration among stakeholders in the sports sectors, aiming to encourage the use of arbitration centers and seek amicable dispute resolution.

The meeting aligns with the promotional plan launched by Counselor Yousuf Said Al Abri, the Deputy Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, to introduce the services of the Abu Dhabi branch of CAS, which is one of three centers affiliated with CAS worldwide.

On the other hand, the Arbitration Center organized a virtual seminar titled “Analysis of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games from a Sports Law Perspective.” The seminar aimed to exchange ideas and insights on mechanisms to support and regulate sports activities through the lens of the law. 

This initiative aligns with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister,and Chairman of the Judicial Department, to solidify comprehensive legal knowledge that ensures dealing with emerging judicial cases and adopting a balanced approach to dispute resolution.

The remote seminar, conducted via visual communication technology, featured a distinguished panel of experts and specialists in sports arbitration at the local and international levels. It covered a diverse range of topics, including new procedures and mechanisms for combating sports doping in the Olympics,and  the impact of enhanced technological equipment on competitions.
