Babington Soap Co.’s Dermatologist-Approved Hand Moisturizer with Antibacterial (2-in-1) Becomes a Finalist in the Pure Beauty 2021 Global Awards
In their need to be germ free and assured of protection, people are willing to prioritize disinfecting over comfort — leading them to keep using handwash and sanitizers that leave their skin dry, itchy and sometimes even inflamed. The founders of Babington Soap Co. experienced this firsthand and made it their mission to develop a sanitizer that leaves a silky smooth and moisturized feel to the skin.
Babington’s plant-based Hand Moisturizer that is also an antibacterial contains just six naturally derived ingredients. Its key ingredient is Chitosan, which is extracted from mushrooms. Almost all sanitizers, whether cheap or premium products, contain aloe vera and/or glycerin as their moisturizer. Although they do make people feel moisturized, the effect is only temporary because the moisture is not locked in the skin. The Chitosan in Babington Soap Co., on the other hand, ensures the hands maintain their moisture after sanitizing by locking in the skin cells’ water stores needed for smooth, healthy skin.
“We are very proud that our 66% alcohol-based sanitizer is 99.9% plant-based and 99.9% natural. We are currently working other similar 2-in-1 hand moisturizers that put moisturizing first and foremost while still killing 99.9% of germs,” shared Matthew and Tom, co-founders of Babington Soap Co. “In a recent survey, we found that many people want to continue to use sanitizer even after a vaccine is in place. Especially a moisturizing sanitizer. We will continue to work for those people.”
Babington’s original uplifting lemongrass product is now certified as dermatologist-approved, kind to skin and hypoallergenic. The product also recently became certified under the Good Face Project and CertClean programs given its clean ingredients. It was also the only sanitizer to be shortlisted as a finalist in the Pure Beauty 2021 Global Awards.
“If sanitizing is a new chore, then at least use a sanitizer you adore,” added Matthew and Tom.
